8 of Grinaker-Lta’s PE sub-contractors have been attending a business development programme. The programme consists of 6 of the 10 modules from PSA’s MASBUWO (Making Small Businesses Work) suite.
Delegates attend one group training session per month and then each receive a half-day coaching session to assist them implement the outputs from each module.
The modules selected were based on the needs of the group and include: (1) Working with Customers; (2) Measuring Your Business; (3) Forecasting Cash Flow; (4) Managing Working Capital; (5) Managing People and (6) Risk & Compliance Management. A total of 18 outputs have to be implemented from the 6 modules covered.
As a result of the programme the participants have developed practical business improvement and marketing plans. In addition, they have implemented financial tracking systems as well as systems to predict and track cash flow and manage their working capital.
The programme concludes in November 2010 where those businesses which have implemented the systems related to each module will receive preferred supplier status from Grinaker-Lta
