Having successfully managed an enterprise competitiveness development project for the ILO focusing on Clothing & Textiles in non-metro areas of KZN in 2005, PSA have been retained to project manage a second round of performance improvement projects in South Africa.
These projects will focus on extending the current initiative in Northern KZN and on further work with the clothing and textile sector which is currently under massive pressure to improve its efficiencies at all levels. Discussions with stakeholders in the sector have reached an advanced stage and it is expected that announcements will be made shortly on two new support initiatives within the sector.
The ILO will also be supporting an improvement initiative in the service sector and in discussions with SanParks and the management of the Kruger National Park it has agreed that an18 month project will be entered into which will focus on upgrading guiding services within the Park.
“We are extremely excited about these new projects” says Joan Ngqulunga, PSA Director, “They will be very challenging but we have got the sound building blocks in place to make sure that they produce the right results in terms of savings, cost reductions, new best practices and skills enhancement”.
