On 22 February 2013, principals from 5 schools in Ilembe District, KZN, which had participated in an 8 month long PMDP intervention graduated, together with two HODs from each school, with a UKZN Certificate in a prestigious ceremony hosted by the Redcap Foundation at their Mr Price Auditorium in Durban.
The initiative was funded by the Redcap Foundation and driven by JET Education Services in partnership with the PMDP Consortium in KZN.
In her speech, one of the graduates Ms Lorraine Kaunda, an HOD from St Christopher’s Primary School commented, “With the PMDP we became more equipped with things like Time Management, People Management, Curriculum Management, Maintenance of Educator Attendance Records, Educators’ Recognition Procedures, to mention but a few. This on the other hand saw HODs becoming more effective and productive as well as more organized”.
“These managers have improved so much and the internal relationships in each school as well as across schools have improved tremendously and they are on their way to becoming centres of excellence” commented Manju Govender, PMDP Facilitator and Coach.
