Principals in the Eastern Cape get a PMDP lifeline…
The week of 5 – 9 November 2012 saw over 150 selected schools and their Circuit Managers attend Induction sessions on the well-known PMDP programme, which were held at Butterworth, Fort Beaufort and Libode Districts.
Senior Management in the Province has expressed their excitement with this initiative coming into the province and so were the principals and Circuit Managers who attended.
The PMDP has delivered average improvement in grade 12 results which consistently exceed the provincial improvements since 2009 when it was launched in KZN. It continues to see improvements in management practices in KZN.
The Eastern Cape has entered into a partnership with the ETDP SETA in the province to deliver this and other teacher-directed initiatives to improve school functionality and results in the province. The 2012/13 cohort will include 150 schools from 3 districts (Butterworth, Fort Beaufort and Libode) with some 14 EDOs also taking part in the workshops.
The representatives of the Consortium implementing the programme, namely UKZN, PricewaterhouseCoopers & Performance Solutions Africa were very pleased with the support and commitment by Senior Management in the province thus far in launching this programme.
