PSA successfully underwent a 3-day ISO9001:2015 certification process from 11- 13 December 2017. This process was conducted by SGS, one of the few organisations accredited to do this in South Africa.
Already holders of the ISO9001:2008 certification, PSA planned to use the 3-year recertification to make a transition into the ISO9001:2015 standard. This was important as the deadline for this transition is the 15th September 2018. The PSA team were really pleased to know that the organisation’s Quality Management System met the requirements of the new standard.
The requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard are generic and applicable to any organisation, regardless of type or size, or products and services offered. It specifies the requirements for a quality management system which assists organisations to:
- demonstrate the ability to consistently provide a service that meets customer, applicable statutory and regulatory requirements;
- enhance customer satisfaction through effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
It also provides a structure to monitor and improve the organisation’s performance and consequently its ability to meet clients’ needs and this has always been PSA’s priority.
Mike Toffel, Associate Professor at Harvard Business School, had the following to say about organisations which are ISO accredited, “ISO adopters have higher rates of corporate survival, sales and employment growth.”
Well done PSA Team!
