PSA is proud to welcome Dr Grant Hatch and Mrs Barbara Gugu Njapha as Directors from 1 December 2006.
Grant has over 10 years of management consulting experience. In addition to his role in PSA, he is a Director of Semezana Consulting in London and was previously Head of European Technology research at Cazenove, where for three years he led of a team of 16 analysts covering all major technology markets. Grant has consulted to companies ranging from clothing, diamonds, asset management, pharmaceuticals and financial services to technology. Grant was previously a strategy consultant and member of the leadership team of the South African practice of Gemini Consulting. He managed Gemini’s Strategic Research Group which undertook strategic industry analysis across a range of industries. Grant was previously an academic at the University of Natal where he lectured applied ecology and economics. He has published 12 peer reviewed papers, three chapters in books and edited three conference proceedings. Grant has a PhD from the University of Natal and an MBA (first class) from the University of Cape Town.
Barbara started her career in 1986 at Standard Bank of SA Ltd where she gained overall banking experience. In 1995 she was selected to participate in the Bank’s Full-Time Study Programme and obtained a B Com (Industrial Psychology) in 1997. Thereafter she joined the Bank’s HR Team as a Recruitment Officer and was later appointed as an HR Generalist overseeing the City and Durban South Areas.
At the end of 2001 she joined ABI as an HR Specialist with additional responsibilities as Management Trustee of Provident and Medical Aid Funds. She moved within ABI to an operations role at the end of 2003 and became Senior Warehouse Manager until December 2005. Barbara has been working independently since then specializing in Recruitment and HR Consulting for SME’s. She is currently studying towards an MBA qualification.
