This programme involves school principals, deputy principals, HODs and teachers from selected grades.
It is typically implemented over 24 to 36 months.
Modules are trained on a residential or day basis. Each module is followed by coaching and assessment.
Start of term workshops involve HODs who are provided with curriculum support tools and materials.
Teachers are provided with teaching support in critical areas during the course of each term.
Baselines assessments of management and teaching practices are undertaken at the outset of the programme and monitored throughout.
Core KPIs include curriculum coverage and teacher and pupil absenteeism.

The School Improvement Programme is currently being run in partnership with other service providers at 17 schools in KZN as part of the FNB Primary Education Programme.
The FNB review of the programme at the end of 2015 indicated:
- There has been a significant improvement in curriculum planning and coverage practices across all schools.
- 80% of schools achieved teacher and learner absenteeism of less than 2%.
- Teamwork amongst SMT and parental involvement in homework and school activities has risen considerably.
