“You – Thrive” Career Guidance Empowers Grade 8 & 9 Learners!

As part of the Mkhulise Young Minds Development Programme, learners at Sithokozile, Buhlebemfundo, and Illanga Secondary Schools recently got a head start on planning their futures through the “You – Thrive” Career Guidance Assessment Programme, facilitated by Zoe-Life Innovative Solutions NPC.

The journey began with a pilot session on 12 April 2025, followed by a larger session for learners on 7 June 2025, hosted at Sithokozile Secondary School. Across both 3-hour sessions, learners engaged in pre- and post-test questionnaires and completed the John Holland Career Assessment, a tool that identifies which careers align best with their personality and interests.

Learners explored their top two career codes from six categories: Realistic, Investigative, Social, Enterprising, Conventional, and Artistic. They received tailored guidance on high school subjects and local job opportunities, opening their eyes to exciting career paths beyond the usual options.

Learners left inspired and more confident about their futures. Here’s what they had to say:
