On 20 February 2025, the Pinetown District gathered to celebrate the achievements of its educational community at the Pinetown District Awards Ceremony. Hosted by District Director Ms. Tembe-Nkosi the event was attended by 200 guests from provincial, district, circuit, and school levels.
Awards were presented to schools and educators for their outstanding achievements, including Best Performing Schools, Most Improved Schools, and those with the Most Bachelor Passes. This recognition highlighted the exceptional efforts of both institutions and teachers in driving academic success.
Guest speaker, Professor S. B. Khoza, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of sharing knowledge from top-performing educators to uplift the entire district. He proposed creating a platform for sharing teaching strategies to enhance educational outcomes and address learning gaps.
The event was attended by Ms Manuella Beier and Ms Masisonke Sokhela from Beier Group which contributed to the event’s décor and catering. Ms Mpume Shamase represented Performance Solutions Africa (PSA) who are working at schools in the district which are part of the Mkhulise programme.
In recognition of their support and in strengthening the connection between the corporate sector and education, the Beier Group and PSA were awarded certificates of appreciation. Looking ahead, the district is emphasized its commitment to explore new ways to collaborate with private-sector partners to continue fostering educational excellence.
